0-6-0 Tank Locomotive "Ossie"
Selling on behalf of our client we have this brilliant 5-inch gauge model of the 0-6-0 tank locomotive called "Ossie."
The model was built by T. Saxon from Stockport in 1975 and measures 13 & 3/4 inches by 33 inches (35cm x 845cm). The locomotive is sturdily constructed with a brazed superheated copper boiler and comes with various fittings such as water and pressure gauges, safety valves, blower, injector, whistle, clack, blowdown and other valves.

Ownership History
Thousands of dollars have been spent maintaining this locomotive over the years. The loco was purchased at the top of the range and has been steamed a hand full of times. The loco has been cosmetically restored by a professional model builder who has done a truly excellent job. As you can see from the photos, the model is still in excellent condition after many years.
The model was built to a fine engineering standard, and during the restoration, it was completely dismantled, and a high level of workmanship is evident both internally and externally.
There is a small brass plaque on the model (see photo) showing that it was made by a T. Saxton in Stockton (near Manchester, UK) in 1975. Since the restoration the model has been on display in the current owners office.
About the model
The chassis details of the locomotive include twin outside cylinders with Walschaert's valve gear, footplate-controlled draincocks, ratchet-operated lubricator, eccentric driven feed pump and by-pass, injector, and whistle. The model also features a running board mounted Duplex feed pump with displacement lubricator, hand feed pump, tank balance pipes, riveting, steps, hand, and lamp irons and lamps. It is finished in red, black, and polished brightwork.
In addition to the locomotive, there is also a four-wheeled coal and water wagon with watercocks, tank filler cap, and hand-operated brake gear. This wagon is finished in black. The boiler certificate is valid until 2.2.89.
Overall, this is a well-crafted model of a tank locomotive, complete with various fittings and details that make it an impressive piece of engineering.
